Alberta recorded 1,592 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday, according to the latest provincial numbers.

There were 709 cases reported on Friday, 515 cases on Saturday and 368 cases on Sunday.

Across the province, there are 9,481 active cases, down from 10,037 on Friday.

In the Edmonton zone, which includes the city of Edmonton and surrounding municipalities, there are 2,170 active cases. The city of Edmonton currently has 1,270 active cases, or 122.3 per 100,000 people.

There are 821 people in hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 68 since Friday. Of those, 182 are in intensive care units, a decrease of nine.

Twenty-five more deaths raised the provincial death toll to 3,051.

Of Albertans aged 12 and older who are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine, 86.6 per cent have received at least one dose whole 78.9 per cent are fully vaccinated with two doses.
