A new nearly 50,000-square-foot manufacturing plant has broken ground in south Edmonton.
Polykar Inc.’s latest facility is located in the Discovery Business Park. Construction of the building is phase one of what will become a $40-million investment.
The building is designed by Calgary-based FarMor Architecture. The 48,000 square-foot building will have a two-storey office wing at the front and a manufacturing plant at the back.
Quebec-based Polykar specializes in sustainable packaging solutions in North America, focusing on polyethylene film for converters, garbage bags, certified compostable bags and food and industrial flexible packaging.
The new Edmonton facility is part of Polykar’s expansion into Western Canada.
