Edmonton firefighters battling home blaze in city's northeast

Fire crews are battling a blaze involving a garage and a single-family home that ignited Tuesday morning.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services received 13 calls, the first coming in at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, reporting a fire at 145 Avenue and 24 Street in the city’s northeast, said spokeswoman Brittany Lewchuk.

Crews arrived on scene minutes later to a fully involved garage fire that spread to a single-family home.

Seven units have responded to the scene. Everyone in the home safely evacuated and there are no reported injuries.

Crews remain on scene fighting the fire from the front of the home and back alley.
