Albertans who have not yet received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine can get one without an appointment at the Edmonton Expo Centre this week.

Anyone 12 and older can get a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the drop-in clinic at 7515 118 Ave NW, in Hall C. The hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, 12:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, or 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

Those who have an Alberta Health Care card are asked to bring it along with photo ID.

Booked vaccine appointments at the Expo Centre will continue as scheduled.

The drop-in clinic, announced by Alberta Health Services in a Tuesday news release, comes amid a drop in demand for first doses.

Under the government’s reopening plan, all public health restrictions are expected to be lifted two weeks after 70 per cent of Albertans 12 and older have received a first dose. Sixty-seven per cent have received at least one dose so far while 15.1 per cent are fully vaccinated.
