Edmonton weather: Snowy, thundery, windy, Marchy weekend in store

Article content

A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.

Sunday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured -1 C with 6 km/h winds out of the west, southwest and a -3 wind chill.

Oh so you thought it was ok to tempt fate and wear shorts those few March days ago. And the opening of one single city driving range had your bosom filled with so much ebullience, maybe.

Welp, adversity breeds strength of character so keep on keepin’ on with your bare goose-dimpled legs. But no judgement as the majority opt the soft route, bundling for the bluster being served up this weekend by a snarly March.

We’re gonna get hammered with it all say forecasters, calling for snow, a possible Sunday thunderstorm as winds howl to 70 km/h. Patience and preparedness for whatever rains down will see us into next weekend, one of hopeful teen spirit climes.

Today’s forecast

The wild weather will begin stealthily, with a smattering of sun and cloud in the morning, a good chance of flurries with an 11 C high and winds up to 15 km/h. Baby stuff next to Sunday’s wallop.
