Emergency crews fighting house fire in northeast Edmonton

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) received multiple 911 calls starting at 7:24 a.m. Tuesday reporting a house on fire near 137 Avenue and 37 Street.

Emergency crews are on the scene of a fire that has damaged multiple houses in northeast Edmonton.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) received multiple 911 calls starting at 7:24 a.m. Tuesday reporting a house on fire near 137 Avenue and 37 Street. Crews arrived three minutes later, to find everyone had safely left the building, said EFRS spokeswoman Brittany Lewchuk.

A total of seven crews responded.

Lewchuk said the fire has destroyed one home and has extended to neighbouring houses. She said there is extensive damage to the home north of the first house and there is exterior damage to the home immediately south.

Fire investigators are also on scene.
