Edmonton weather: The sun now sets at 6:01 p.m. and I can live again

A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.

Wednesday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured -3.9 C with 12 km/h winds out of the west and a -9 wind chill.

Anyone else noticing a bit more daylight these days? Because I sure have!

Today we passed a very significant milestone (that I have completely fabricated) as the sun now sets after 6 p.m. giving us all a glimpse and reminder of those long summer days when it’s intensely bright out at 10:30 p.m.. Ahhhhh summer. Honestly, it’s just the best. Remember December when it was dark out at 4:30 p.m.? That sucked. There’s just no getting around it. And yet, slowly but surely, we’re grinding our way through winter—only five more days until March!

As far as the actual weather goes, we’re looking at another mild-to-warm day with forecasters calling for a high of 2 C today under mainly sunny skies. That pesky 20-40 km/h wind will stick around until later this afternoon and then go away for a bit tonight before coming back for another round tomorrow morning. I still need to buy ice melt, by the way. I literally went to the store to grab ice melt yesterday and left with meat, cheese, crackers and jujubes. Whyyyyyy?

Does Lisa need a coat (and mittens)?

I would say a sweater would suffice, or maybe a BUNNYHUG! 🐰
