Wednesday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured -21.8 C with 5 km/h winds out of the west, southwest with a wind chill of -26.
I’m sorry, does that say 9 C Sunday?
Nine degrees? For real? Don’t mess with me on this I’m very fragile right now. Seriously, 9 C on Sunday? I don’t want to get my hopes up here but I’m totally getting my hopes up here. I know forecasts are prone to sudden changes but I will ignore all that and just blindly believe what I see today. Nine degrees Sunday, it’s happening (probably).
It’s currently -21 C with a -26 wind chill but things will definitely warm up this afternoon as forecasters are calling for a downright balmy high of -8 C. It will get cold again overnight as temperatures dip back down to around -20 C but it should be the last time we see anything near that for some time.
By Friday, forecasters are calling for temperatures to surge above zero and overnight lows will be hovering in the single digits. It’s like Christmas all over again.
Does Lisa need a coat (and mittens)?
One more day. One last huzzah. Then you can put them away for a bit until March, probably. We all know how much I love March.
