Over 66,000 Albertans are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, reported the numbers during the province’s daily coronavirus update Sunday. In total, 169,441 vaccines have been administered since the first vaccine approvals late last year.

Another 328 new Alberta COVID cases were identified since Saturday — a positivity rate of 4.3 per cent. Nine of those new cases were the new U.K. variant, bringing the total number of variant cases in Alberta to 278.

There are currently 4,758 active cases, down slightly from Saturday. Three-hundred-twenty-one people were in hospital with the illness (down from 336 the day prior), 53 in intensive care (up two from Saturday).

Nine more deaths were reported, bringing the total to 1,827.
